Spring is always a busy time for those of us that like to race, or at least to join in some fun local races. The season kicked off with the Garden State 10 miler in Millstone, where Michael Lin and Bobi Commer represented the club. The Spring Distance Classic 15k by the great swamp always gets a big club turnout, and this year was no exception. April brought the Newark Cherry Blossom 10k, with a few folks making their way through the pretty Branch Brook Park.

The next official team race is a 10k in Ridgewood on Memorial Day. Let me know if you want to attend and we can perhaps field an official team. Other unofficial local races coming up are the Superhero Half in Loantaka on May 4th, a 5k in Summit also on May 4th and the Fishawack 4-mile June 14th. There is also a mile race in Norwood on May 17th if you want to test your speed! June will bring the Lager Run 5k and the President’s Cup 5k.
